Who we are
Lincoln Park Lights is a seasonal drive-through holiday-light experience in Galesburg, Illinois. In this policy, “Lincoln Park Lights,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the organization operating Lincoln Park Lights and the website at LincolnLights.Christmas.
Information we collect
We collect information you choose to provide, such as:
- Your mobile phone number when you request Lincoln Lights text alerts.
- Your alert preferences and subscription status.
- The date, time, source page, and exact consent language associated with an SMS signup.
- Information included in questions, support requests, ticket inquiries, volunteer forms, or other forms you submit.
Our systems may also record limited technical information needed for security and reliability, such as browser type, referring page, and a privacy-preserving hash derived from a network address. We do not intentionally store the raw network address with the SMS consent record.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide weather closures, delayed-opening, early-closing, major-traffic, and schedule-change alerts you requested.
- Record and honor opt-ins, confirmations, HELP requests, and opt-outs.
- Answer questions and provide visitor or ticket support.
- Protect the website and messaging program against misuse, fraud, and technical problems.
- Maintain records needed to demonstrate consent and comply with applicable carrier, messaging, and legal requirements.
SMS information and consent
SMS opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
We do not sell or rent mobile phone numbers or SMS consent records. We may provide limited information to service providers that help us operate the messaging program—such as our communications carrier, hosting provider, and software vendors—only as needed to provide the service, keep it secure, or comply with law. Those providers are not authorized to use your information for their own marketing.
When information may be disclosed
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:
- Operate the website, alert service, ticketing, or other requested services through contracted providers.
- Comply with a lawful request, court order, or legal obligation.
- Protect the rights, safety, and security of visitors, staff, volunteers, the public, or Lincoln Park Lights.
- Complete a reorganization or transfer of the event’s operations, subject to appropriate protection of personal information.
Retention
Active subscription information is kept while you remain subscribed. Consent and opt-out records may be retained after a subscription ends when reasonably necessary to document your choices, prevent unwanted messages, resolve disputes, and meet carrier or legal obligations. Other form information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected.
Your choices
You can stop Lincoln Lights text alerts at any time by replying STOP. You can request assistance by replying HELP. You may also ask us to review, correct, or delete information that is not required for compliance or suppression records by calling (309) 324-5483.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
The website and text-alert program are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the text-alert signup.
Policy changes
We may update this policy as the event and its services develop. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes affecting the SMS program will be reflected in updated consent language when required.
